Between editions, amendments may be issued. Test procedures for an electrical installation designed in accordance with Section 1.9.4 of AS/NZS 3000 shall be submitted to the superintendent 28 days prior to the planned date of testing on. To maintain their currency, all Standards are periodically reviewed, and new editions are published. AS/NZS 3017 and shall cover testing to verify the installation prior to putting it into service, as well as periodic verification or in-service testing. Luminaires (light fittings) with exposed metallic (conductive) parts also must be earthed using an earthing conductor connected to the earth terminal of the lighting point (Clause 5.4.4). Standards are living documents which reflect progress in science, technology and systems. The earthing conductor must be connected to a suitably robust earthing terminal of the lighting point (Australian Standard AS/NZS 3000:2018 Clause 5.4.3).
